The Kaneshie District Court has released the founder and chief of International God’s Method Church (IGWC), Bishop Daniel Obinim and one other who had been facing charges of forgery.
The Court Presided more than by Her Worship Rosemond Agyiri ruled out the case following the prosecution led by Investigator Sergent Richard Amoah informed the court that they desire to withdraw charges levelled contrary to the accused.
The court eventually struck out the case since withdrawn and discharged Obinim and Kwabena Okyere who was simply facing the charge within court for the past 11 weeks.
The trial of Daniel Obinim and Kwabena Okyere was postponed to Apr 21, 2021, due to the lack of the presiding Magistrate, Rosemond Agyiri who is said to be ill.
Louis Yiadom Boakye whom held brief for Dela Blagogee Esq. of Blagogee, Blacksword & Co. informed the court that the protection had from the very beginning preserved that Bishop Obinim had been innocent and if the criminal prosecution saw it fit in order to withdraw the case, they are not in opposition to it.
Bishop Daniel Obinim, others were facing fees of forgery of record contrary to section 159(c) associated with 29, 1960 and distribution of false news.
Obinim and Kwabena Okyere had been put before the Kaneshie Justice of the peace Court in Accra plus charged with four matters of conspiracy to publish fake news, conspiracy to create other documents, publication associated with false news and forgery of documents.
