A 23-year-old brilliant Ghanaian medical pupil has died in Cuba in a case of claimed negligence.
Erasmus Klutse passed away on May 7, 2021, after he was apparently refused treatment when this individual fell ill and had been rushed to the school’s campus.
He subsequently needed to be delivered outside the campus but the ambulance had no gasoline plus there was no funding to assist the situation.
In an interview along with Class FM, Eugene Oko Richman, a Ghanaian pupil leader in Cuba lamented neglect by the Ghanaian Charge and their sponsors, GNPC.
“Just this last Friday, all of us lost a student of our bait, a brother, Erasmus Klutse and one of the reasons why all of us lost him was due to the poor health treatment that we have been receiving, ” this individual said.
Eugene continued that will, “And the issue that we have would be that the mission here has made this very easy for the Cubans to not make us a priority with regards to our health because if they had delivered an ambulance to your pet, we feel that his passing away could have been prevented”.
One of Erasmus’ friend and colleague pupil in a tweet revealed that will:
“The body of Erasmus after his death with 7: 00 am has been lying in the school till 3: 00 pm in order to was later conveyed towards the mortuary I guess.
“They swindled me of my friend plus church leader due to incompetence… Erasmus who died when justin was 23 had a degree within Biomedical engineering in LOWER-LEG but wanted to pursue their passion”.
Speaking on the destiny of Ghanaian students within Cuba, Emmanuel Dwomfour-Poku, the particular organising secretary and PROFESSIONAL of NUGS (National Partnership of Ghanaian Students), mentioned that: “We set our own expectations high only to flunk as we were sabotaged simply by our own government. ”
This individual further added, “None people accounted for the water shortages, the particular rotten food being offered to not only us but additionally our friends of moving kind, and lack of gas to facilitate transportation which may later cause the loss of our own brother. ”
“We have already been impeccable, despite the lack of the help of our embassy during the outbreak, despite the lack of stipends which usually leave us starving and hungry”.
