Electronic Transfer Levy Act forces a 1.50 % on most electronic exchanges

Exchanges E-Levy will cover

2. Transfer from one portable cash organization to a beneficiary on another organization, For instance, sending cash from your MTN Momo wallet to someone else’s TIGO Cash wallet.

4. Transfer from mobile money cash wallet to bank account: For instance, Annie moves cash from her Vodafone cash wallet to Yaw’s Ecobank accounts.

5. Bank moves on an advanced stage or application which starts from a bank account having an association with the person: For instance, Sam moves cash from his NIB Bank account. to Kwesi’s Prudential Bank account.

Exchanges E-Levy won’t cover

The Finance Ministry has additionally featured a few situations where the E-Levy won’t make a difference. They are;

1. Aggregate exchanges of GHS 100 every day made by a similar individual: Everyone has a day to day tax-exempt edge (Limit) of GHS 100-that is each individual will actually want to send up to GHS100 per day without the instalment of the duty;

2. Transfers between accounts possessed by a similar individual: assuming you are sending cash to your own account (owned by a similar individual) then, at that point, you won’t be charged the E Levy. An exchange from Kojo’s Tigo wallet to his MTN wallet or from his CBG bank account to his GCB bank account or from his investment account to his current or speculation account, won’t draw in the toll.

3. Transfers for the instalment of assessments, expenses, and charges: Any instalment of duties charges or charges made to an MDA or MMDA(government agencies charges) utilizing the Ghana.gov stage or other assigned strategy, e levy won’t be charged.

4. Electronic Clearing of Checks: Clearing of checks by the banks and concentrated store taking establishments, for example, reserve funds and advances organizations and so forth are prohibited.

5. Determined dealer instalments: Payments made to business foundations through an instalment administration (mobile money cash, bank application, Fintech and so forth) to an individual enlisted with the Ghana Revenue Authority for the motivations behind annual duty or worth-added charge are barred. This applies to both on the web and actual deals. Eg paying your G.R.A taxes using any mobile money or banking transaction won’t attract the E levy charges

Are utility and broadcast appointment instalments subject to the E-demand?
