Security authorities of the Korle Bu Training Hospital have arrested 2 persons for attempting to grab pints of blood on the hospital’s surgical department.
Inside a statement, the management from the hospital said the legal activities of the group came to the interest of its security officers on a tip-off.
A special procedure was consequently launched resulting in the arrest of the thought thieves at about 2: 00am on Saturday, May twenty two, 2021, by the security staff of the health facility.
“The activities of the group came to the interest of the security on a tip-off. They then mounted surveillance that will eventually led to the police arrest of the suspects this morning close to 2am.
“They [thieves] were arrested at the Surgical third floor whenever they made the attempt to take several pints of bloodstream that had been mobilized for different surgical procedures, ” the hospital’s administration said in a declaration.
The suspects have been paid to the Korle Bu Police for investigations to commence.
Among the suspects was seen within a laboratory coat in undercover dress as a health professional.
He is at possession of some taken pints of blood whilst his other accomplice sitting in a 2018-registered Daewoo Matiz outside waiting for him on the car park around the administration obstruct of the hospital.
Management offers therefore urged staff members to become vigilant of any dubious acts at the facility plus “immediately alert the security in order to forestall the occurrence associated with any untoward incidents within Hospital. ”
