Prisons are usually established for the confinement associated with persons accused or found guilty of crimes in contravention of the law.
The correctional facility or rehabilitation center, as some may choose to call it, in most cases is expected to transform convicts into better people. However it appears that is not entirely the facts on the ground as it sometimes changes convicts for the worse because of some acts they are subjected to.
An ex-convict has contributed his experience in jail after completing a 10-year jail term as he opened about some criminal routines rampant in prison.
This individual was arrested and sentenced in 2011 for drug-related accidents.
Sharing his experience upon UTV, the ex-convict, who had been in holding at Nsawam Prison, said he observed so many evil acts within the facility.
He indicated that will some inmates engage in Cellular Money fraud while others present as fetish priests plus duped unsuspecting victims outdoors.
According to him, one of the most troubling acts that take place in the particular facility is homosexuality. This individual stated categorically that jail officers who man the area are well aware of this.
This individual alleged that an officer in control employed him to smuggle marijuana and cigarettes to the prison yard by pushing them into his anal canal and sell it from exorbitant prices to inmates.
Among many other illegal routines that take place, he divulged that some inmates make use of mobile phones which are prohibited legally. He added that SIM cards used for fraudulent routines are also available for sale in the service.
