Artist Sarkodie has waded to the social media campaign #FixTheCountry right after an avalanche of repercussion from followers over their silence on the movement.
The particular multi-award-winning artiste reacted towards the criticism saying he facilitates the convenors and has continually supported the cause for authorities accountability “since the beginning of their career through his music”.
Sarkodie in a lengthy publish on social media wrote: “I support both #FixTheCountry plus #FixYourself but at this point, the federal government has more to do for people to fix themselves.
“If a person fix the system then you can fault the people 100% for not repairing themselves and that’s why you are market leaders.
“Fixing the country automatically treatments the people. “
The marketing campaign was initially started by a few young persons on Tweets but attracted some celebs including Efia Odo, DKB, John Dumelo and others.
Sarkodie, who touted the NPP’s leadership in his song ‘Happy Day’, was conspicuously lacking in action. But he described that he had remained quiet because his opinion is definitely misconstrued for a political plan.
“I know politicians plus party followers intentionally politicize my opinion, even when they understand it’s the truth, to save their own party thinking I’m assaulting a particular party, ” this individual wrote.
“I don’t describe myself because the people with politics ears and eyes can never accept it and try to strike my submission and that continues to be our biggest problem being a country and that’s one of the main good reason that we are stagnant. “
