The particular Ghana Education Service provides instructed authorities at the Achimota School to admit the two first year Rastafarian college students.
This comes after a massive response on social media following the older high school’s denial associated with 2 rastafarian students whom got admission but had been refused admission to enroll simply because they had dreadlocks.
An aggrieved parent of one of the college students who were denied admission accepted social media to register his discontentment over the unfair treatment from the management of the school.
“My son was one of the impacted children and the other pupil was also refused on the same coffee grounds. We have no option yet to battle against this gross human being right violation. As a child, they have every right to his lifestyle so far as such culture will not breach the 1992 Metabolic rate.
“He equally deserves the proper to access education within their culture just like other social believers.
“As a Rastafarian, I think that dreadlocks perform no way cause any damage which should even be a foundation to be asserted by the college authorities, ” The father had written on facebook.
Ever since their post, there have been massive response from social media and many conventional media platforms questioning exactly why the Achimota school will require such an unfair decision.
The particular Director-General of GES, Teacher Kwasi Opoku- Amankwah responding to the unfortunate development stated the school cannot refuse to confess the two students.
“You are not able to say that you you will not confess someone on the basis of someone’s spiritual belief so we have requested the head to allow the children to stay school” He said.
