Not less than thirty-three women suspected to be sexual intercourse workers at Pokuase are arrested by the Pokuase Area Police in the Greater Accra Region.
The suspects, elderly between 20 and thirty-five are mostly foreigners.
The five-hour exercise was led by District Police Commander, Mouthpiece Superintendent of Police (DSP) Dickson Obeng, with assistance from the Immigration Service, Nationwide Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), and a task force in the Ga North Municipal Set up.
It also saw the demolition of several unauthorized wood structures being inhabited plus used by the suspected sexual intercourse workers.
The police noted that this structures in which the suspects stayed also served as the hideouts for drug peddlers, criminals, and minors who are physically exploited.
According to DSP Obeng, the suspects would be tested and the foreigners among them paid to the Ghana Immigration Provider for further verification of their migration statuses.
Those found culpable would be arraigned.
