Lydia Forson has waded into the nationwide debate about the implementation from the controversial new Electronic Deal Levy (E-Levy) laid within parliament by the Minister associated with Finance. The actress, inside a tweet, kicked against the brand new tax system the government expects to introduce in the country stating “there’s absolutely nothing good about” it. Irrespective of the government’s explanation for the necessity in order to introduce the E-Levy most of Ghanaians are against the proceed, with the minority in parliament describing it as daytime robbery of citizens. Within the tweet, Lydia Forson declared that citizens are already being taxed for “nearly everything” currently, but they are yet in order to reap the benefits. “There is totally nothing good about E- Levy!!! NOTHING. There would be space to debate it’s requirement if we’re weren’t currently being taxed for nearly almost everything already. She suggested that will in order for the government to earn the hearts of Ghanaians to accept the E-Levy, they must be willing to first account for all of the taxes paid over the years. “The argument should start from each one of these hidden/dodgy taxes we spend and are yet to see their own benefits, ” she had written.
