– Advertisement -Former President Mahama has asked President Akufo-Addo to give way for his party, the NDC, to takeover because he seems to have trouble with the leading of the country. In accordance with him, the president includes a penchant for blaming him for his inability to lead the nation which is an attribute of a poor leader. Speaking at the 40th Anniversary commemoration of the 31st December Revolution in Accra on Friday, Mr Mahama said his name has featured predominantly in the speeches of the president since he took over thus he should step aside if that he feels he is unable to lead the country. “Leadership is about responsibility. It is only a poor leader who shirks responsibilities and shift blames. We had an electrical crisis– dumsor in this country– because of a lack of investment in generation for many years, and thus we were consuming more power than we generated. That has been the situation I met, yet I did not say it isn’t my fault. I went along to Parliament, took responsibility because of it and promised to fix it, which we did. ”“Today somebody [President Akufo-Addo] claims he inherited a weak economy, which that he hasn’t been able to lead to, 5 years on. It’s always about Mahama and NDC. If he [Nana Akufo-Addo] can not perform the job, he should give way for the NDC to do it for you. ”Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo has reiterated that his administration has performed creditably well and has moved Ghana from a place of hopelessness to a point of immense growth and development. Although he’s said he could not be held responsible for the hardship faced by the population, Akufo-Addo has touted the achievements of the NPP and reechoed the fact that they’ve performed better than the NDC.
